Creative Liaisons celebrating Artists in Schools Programme 2013
Exhibition October 9th to October 17th .
Creative Liaisons is an exhibition celebrating the success of The Artists in Schools Programme designed specifically for schools during 2013.It celebrates the role and invaluable contribution of individual artists working side by side educationalists ,children and young people from across 25 primary,post primary and special schools in the Derry~Londonderry area. The diverse range of work exhibited illustrates this unique opportunity and its potential to unlock creativity of pupils,teachers,parents and communities alike .More significantly highlighting the benefits of creative collaborations with and significant impact of the work of 14 experienced and talented, emerging as well as established artists as co educators.
Artists ,many of whom were from the North west worked across art-forms including ceramics, ,photography,painting,drawing,drama,poetry and architecture.An exhibition providing a profile for an unprecedented opportunity for learning and legacy beyond 2013. This has provided significant employment opportunities for talented and prolific artists.The work exhibited highlights creative responses from children and young people from 5yr olds to 18yrs old under the guidance and support of artists and educators alike.An exhibition not to be missed, featuring talks and presentations from Artists and Educators from participating schools .
A dedicated seminar will be held Tuesday October 14th at 4.pm for those who wish to explore future potential and practice as an Artist and educator in schools and youth settings.Please register your interest by contacting the London Street Gallery on 02871260051
